Argentina + Spain = true?

As you can tell I have a long way to go before I can call myself a qualified blogger. I simply haven’t got the hang of continuously blogging. Since my debut last time, I’ve had numerous things to say about important topics like why I am boycotting Eastenders, how I still haven’t moved on from the fact that Berbatov took a penalty but not Tevez in the FA-Cup semifinal, how superior the Toffee fans were at that particular game and why I agree that it was right to include sentiment when choosing the 2009 Player of the Year. Also, in March, I should have praised Swedish bandy team, Sirius IK, for their good run in the Elite League. Next season I will write more about bandy, I promise.

However, what really made me put everything else on hold tonight just to write a few lines is the Tevez-saga. A colleague of mine asked me today, what would I say if Tevez went to Liverpool. Erm, I said Fergie would never allow that but then I realised he hasn’t got much to say in this as Tevez is on loan. I was just thinking of the palaver with baked beans, previous Argentinean, who was in talks with the arch-rivals.

I was at OT on Wed night and I was indeed happy to see Tevez in the starting line-up but unfortunately it is a little too late. I totally understand him, a player of his calibre should not settle for a secondary rating. But will he go to Liverpool? Nah… I don’t think so. If I had a lot of money I’d put them on a Spanish side.

The same colleague also asked me if I would swap Ronaldo for Kaka and Ribery. I said, had you asked me a year ago I would not have had to think twice, the answer would have been no. Now, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t force Ronaldo to stay at a club if he wants to move on. Which he clearly does.

I may have been one of few people who actually had a lot of respect for Ronaldo before the Real Madrid love affair came out in the open. Now I just think, come summer transfer window, let him go if he wants to. Just a shame we can’t keep hold of other players such as Tevez who easily would have stayed had he had less time on the sidelines.

And just another footballing headline that grabbed my interest today when coming back from my early morning swim.
